Product FAQs
What is a straight blade plug?
A straight blade plug is a standard electrical plug with flat, straight prongs.
What’s the difference between straight blade and twist-lock plugs?
Straight blade plugs (as the name implies) have straight blades that do not lock. Twist-lock plugs have curved blades that can be twisted after insertion to lock in place.
What are some common straight blade plugs?
NEMA 5-15 is the most common straight blade plug in North America and is the typical everyday household plug. The two-pronged version (non-grounded) is also widely used. NEMA 5-20 are sometimes used on 20A circuits and typically have a "T-Slot" that allows 5-15 or 5-20 compatibility.
