Cookies

A cookie is a small amount of information that’s downloaded to your computer or device when you visit our Site. We use a number of different cookies, including functional, performance, advertising, and social media or content cookies. Although the acceptance of cookies is not necessary to access the Site, cookies make your browsing experience better by allowing the website to remember your actions and preferences (such as login and region selection). This means you don’t have to re-enter this information each time you return to the site or browse from one page to another. Cookies also provide information on how people use the website, for instance whether it’s their first time visiting or if they are a frequent visitor. You can reset your browser to decline cookies at any time if you wish.

In general, there are 2 different types of cookies:

* The so-called session cookies, that are deleted as soon as you close your browser

* Temporary/permanent cookies, that are stored on your data carriers for a longer period or without limit.

Which Cookies Are Used by Tropical IT

Session cookies are used by us, which will be automatically deleted from your hard disk at the end of the browser session. Session cookies are needed, for example, to make the shopping-cart function available to you over several pages.

In addition to these we also make use of cookies that remain on your hard disk. On a subsequent visit, it is then automatically recognized that you have previously visited Tropical IT, and let us know which input and settings you prefer. These temporary or even permanent cookies (lifespan of 1 day to 2 years) are stored on your hard disk and are automatically deleted after the pre-specified period.

What Information Is Stored in The Cookies

In the cookies used by Tropical IT, only anonymous data is stored. Your name, your IP address and other personal information that might be used to trace you directly are not placed in the cookie. On the basis of cookie technology, we receive only anonymous information relating, for example, to which of our shop carts have been visited, which products were viewed, etc.

Why Does Tropical IT Use Cookies

This information will never be used to identify you personally but will only help us to recognize and remember your interests so that we can customize content and enhance the personalization of your online shopping experience. For example, after the initial set-up and sign in, these cookies enable you to come back to our site again without having to sign in each time.

With this technology, we can recognize your interests, present specific products/services to make our website more user-friendly, more effective and more secure. The content will be based on information obtained from a connection to click-stream analysis (for example, it is based on the fact that during the past few days only Projectors have been viewed). Our aim is to make your shopping experience as comfortable as possible.

How Can You Prevent The Storage of Cookies

In your browser you can adjust the setting that storage of cookies is only permissible when you agree to it, and thereby prevent the further storage of cookies in the future.

The length of time that a cookie remains on your computer or mobile device depends on whether it is a “persistent” or “session” cookie. Session cookies last until you stop browsing and persistent cookies last until they expire or are deleted. Most of the cookies we use are persistent and will expire between 30 minutes and two years from the date they are downloaded to your device.

You can control and manage cookies in various ways. Please keep in mind that removing or blocking cookies can negatively impact your user experience and parts of our website may no longer be fully accessible.

Most browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can choose whether or not to accept cookies through your browser controls, often found in your browser’s “Tools'' or “Preferences'' menu. For more information on how to modify your browser settings or how to block, manage or filter cookies can be found in your browser’s help file or through such sites as: www.allaboutcookies.org.

Additionally, please note that blocking cookies may not completely prevent how we share information with third parties such as our advertising partners.

Do not track

Please note that because there is no consistent industry understanding of how to respond to “Do Not Track” signals, we do not alter our data collection and usage practices when we detect such a signal from your browser.
