Application Notes

Use P-Lock C14 to C15 power cords to prevent inadvertent disconnects. The P-Lock C14 plug is secured by the notched C13 outlets found on most ServerTech, Chatsworth (CPI), Raritan, Vertiv, Knurr, and NextGen Eaton PDUs. These cords also lock into Eaton C39 receptacles, extending compatibility across a broad range of rack power infrastructure.

The C15 connector on the equipment end is rated for higher operating temperatures (up to 120°C) and is backwards compatible with both C14 and C16 inlets, making it well suited for equipment that runs warm — most notably managed network switches (including PoE and PoE+ switches), heated appliances, and certain industrial controls. P-Lock secures the cord at the PDU side; for added security at the equipment end, pairing with a StayOnline SecureSleeve will lock the C15 connector in place.

C14 to C15 P-Lock cords are well suited for network closets, data centers, and AV racks where higher-temperature equipment is powered from P-Lock compatible PDUs and PDU-side connection security is required.

What devices use a C14 to C15 P-Lock power cord?

These cords are commonly used with managed network switches (including PoE and PoE+ switches), routers, wireless controllers, AV equipment, heated appliances, and other equipment where higher temperature ratings and PDU-side locking are required.
